- Getting to sleep until 8:30!
- Hitting the Target toy sale and finding stuff for my birthday/Christmas stash.
- Having a yummy lunch with Heather.
- Watching Jackson play with Brady…they’ve GOT to be the cutest 1 year old boys EVER!
- Listening to Kelsea and Ansley play and sound so grown up.
- Swimming 1000 yards without stopping…and feeling pretty good when I was done. (BIG accomplishment!)
- Even though she wasn’t feeling well, Emma asking if we could go run a mile together. (By the way, she ran almost an entire mile 2 days ago…I was so proud of her!) We didn’t go tonight, but the fact that she WANTED to do it made me smile!
- Mexican night at home. (Fajitas…yummy!)
- Watching Jackson run with the football through the living room waiting to be tackled.
- Reading out loud to my girls from the book “The Boxcar Children”, one of the first chapter books I read as a little girl.
- Making plans to go the beach with the Bledsoe’s tomorrow.
- Chillin’ on the couch with my husband, getting ready to watch the results for “So You Think You Can Dance.”
- My husband watching “So You Think You Can Dance” with me.

Weekend Review July 21, 2008
We had a weekend filled with lots of fun. Friday night we spent some time with some good friends and said goodbye to Chris and Lisa Markham. Chris and Lisa have been great friends to us over the last few years and they are moving to Jacksonville. We are so sad to see them leave! Chris and Lisa, y’all are in our prayers as you move away…God has big things in store for you guys!
Saturday we celebrated Kelsea’s 4th birthday with some bouncing fun at SliderZ. The girls had a great time. It was so cute to see Ansley and Kelsea playing together…they hadn’t seen each other in about 3 weeks and they were glued to each others’ side…BFFs!
Church was awesome yesterday. I missed out on Byron’s first sermon in the series “Hey Jude”, but I was able to be there for the second one and can’t wait for next week. The service was challenging to me personally and reminded me that Christ has given me EVERYTHING I need for life and godliness. I loved the worship set we did…especially “Cannons”… awesome words…you can check them out here.
Sunday night Barry and I went out with some friends to celebrate Staci’s birthday. We had dinner at this place…quite an experience. The food was great, but the atmosphere is what this restaurant is known for…belly dancers, fire dancers, everybody dancing on tables, loud music…crazy fun!
It was a great weekend but I was pooped last night…it was way too late to blog. Now it’s Monday and the day is almost over! (Where did the time go?!?) Gotta go think about what I’m making for dinner now…I REALLY need to go to the grocery store. Hmmm…what can I make with black beans, peanut butter and chicken?
Hope everyone had a happy Monday!
Beach Bums and Brinner May 25, 2008
Today we got to spend some quality time as a family. In fact, this weekend we have been able to spend lots of time together. It’s the first weekend in a VERY long time that we haven’t had anything on our calendar… NOTHING!
We started off the day at the beach. We got there pretty early (around 10 am) and had our expectations set pretty low as far as how long Jackson (15 months old) would last. It was his first trip to the beach (at least the first one since he’s been mobile!) and we weren’t too sure what to expect from him. When Emma and Ansley were little we didn’t take them to the beach much because they hated the sand and the water. Jackson LOVED it. He crawled (yes, he’s 15 months old and still crawling) to the water, let the waves hit him, crawl back to the shore line, roll around in the sand, taste it, decide it wasn’t that appetizing, then do it all over again. Emma played on her boogie board and Ansley jumped the waves the whole time. Barry and I actually got to sit and relax for a while!
We had a relaxing afternoon then had the girls’ favorite dinner…breakfast. (Barry calls this “brinner”) We had pancakes, omelets, and fruit smoothies. It was YUM-O!
Emma and Ansley told Barry and I that we are the best parents ever because we took them to the beach and then had brinner. Wow. Best Parents EVER…do you think they’ll think that when they’re 14 and 16? I think it’s going to take a lot more than the beach and brinner, but it’s good to know that our 4 and 5 year old kids enjoyed a little quality family time also!
By the way…I took some really cute pictures of the kids at the beach that I was looking forward to posting on here. Then I realized I left the memory card in the computer at home. Oh well…maybe next time!
